I love thinking out the scene, getting the people in the context of an event, the landscape, the environment they're working in, and composition that looks good and tells a story. I'm happy to skin up a tree, climb a hill, cross water, shoot in foul weather, at night or in the wilds to get results. I live in Moffat in Dumfries & Galloway but I'll travel anywhere. I'm experienced with corporate shoots, press launches, community photography, sports events, and I'm equally happy working indoors or outdoors. I'll bring creativity while working to your brief, and understanding the importance of your deadlines, I will meet them. I'm flexible, have own transport, and 'Disclosure Scotland' enhanced certification.
"I spotted Ross's brilliant photos on-line when researching an article about SwimRun events. He really knows how to capture the perfect moment, including sports people taking part in challenging events. This is not easy to do when people are moving and the surrounding conditions are not perfect but he has a real knack. His photos also celebrate the beauty of both the landscape and people. Ross is a true professional."
Fiona Russell, aka FionaOutdoors freelance journalist and blogger.
"When Ross shoots at my events, he gets me quality images that really capture the essence of the day and that the participants love to see. And I get superb images to use in print and social media for promoting future events too"
Alan Anderson - Events Director.
"As the South of Scotland's only ski area, we receive a considerable amount of attention from the media and the snowsports community in Scotland. It is therefore vital that we project the right image of our work. Lowther Hills has been lucky to count on Ross's top-notch photography, and he has a talent for capturing perfectly the true spirit of this pioneering outdoor project. The high quality of his photos have helped our business feature prominently in the pages of the country's main newspapers, magazines and on-line media."
Anjo Abelaira - MD, Lowther Hills Ski Club (a community interest company).
